Did Britney Give Up Her Basic Rights? ...

So what the heck is a conservatorship anyway? And what rights, exactly, is Britney giving up by agreeing to make her father's conservatorship over her estate permanent? Well here are some of the basics, as outlined by the State of California:

Conservatee's (Britney's) rights include: A conservatee does not lose all rights. They can still have a say in important decisions. They have the right to: Be treated with understanding and respect; have their wishes considered; and be well cared for by the conservator. In general, conservatees keep the right to:

• Control their own salary
• Make or change their will
• Get married
• Get mail
• Have a lawyer
• Ask a judge to change conservators
• Ask a judge to end the conservatorship
• Vote, unless a judge says they're not able to
• Control personal spending money if a judge says they can have an allowance
• Make their own health-care decisions, unless a judge gives that right to a conservator

Conservator's (Jamie Spears) duties: When the court chooses you as a conservator (Jamie Spears), you are responsible to the court. You take on certain jobs and responsibilities. The court can examine everything you do as a conservator. When the court chooses you as the conservator of a person, this means you:

• Arrange for the conservatee's care and protection; decide where the conservatee will live; and are in charge of: health care, food, clothes, personal care, housekeeping, transportation, and recreation.
• Figure out what the conservatee needs: You must figure out what the conservatee needs and how to meet those needs.
• Decide where the conservatee will live.
• You must tell the court every time the conservatee's address changes.
• You can't move the conservatee out of state.
• You can't put the conservatee in a mental health treatment facility.
• You are responsible for making sure that the conservatee's health-care needs are taken care of.

This One Goes Out To "The One I Love"

While a jury was trying to decide whether she was guilty of driving without a license in a courtroom across town, we caught Britney at the IDA dance studio in Hollywood in a cute tee and jeans. We're guessing she's getting ready for that big performance in NYC we told you about earlier today. You know we're gonna be watching! Has anyone seen these "The One I Love" shirts before? Whaddya think it means?

Monday's Final Britney Court Update!

Looks like we'll have to wait for a decision until tomorrow, y'all! The jury is dismissed and heading home now. Nothing has been decided... yet. We'll find out what happens at 9 a.m. tomorrow when the court reconvenes, so stay tuned! Think they'll rule in Brit's favor or not?

Brit's Director Calls Womanizer "The Answer" to Toxic

Watching Brit's amazing Womanizer video, it's easy to see why people are drawing comparisons to Toxic. However the vid's director, Joseph Kahn, tells MTV that it isn't so much Toxic 2 as it is the answer to Toxic.

"I didn't see it as a direct sequel but a 2008 answer to Toxic. Toxic was a crystallization of her career at that time, and the tough part was that we knew there were going to be comparisons. There are elements and moments of Toxic that I felt could be improved. This one is a bit more fashion-forward. The only big difference is that she's been through a lot, and the big curiosity for me was how much she can give me on set."

And she apparently gave him all he could have asked for and more.

"When I see her on set, she's extremely professional, and it's a job. There's really literally no messing around... Whatever accolades she gets, she deserves."

Watch the video (again) and judge for yourself! Toxic is classic Brit at her best, but this one might just take the cake!
